When Georgian-born Katie Melua signed with Mike Batt’s Dramatico Records in September 2002, no-one could have imagined that by the release of her third album, Pictures, she would be the biggest-selling UK-based, female artist in the world that year. Her first two albums, ‘Call Off The Search’ and ‘Piece By Piece’ both became international number ones, and the story was to continue, after an exciting, record-breaking rollercoaster ride involving several massive world tours and many special moments – like Katie playing on stage for Nelson Mandela with her idols, Queen, or dining at Buckingham Palace with the real Queen and the American Ambassador. Katie Melua’s Blog: 27th June 2012
Hey everyone
This could be my last blog Ever!! The reason for this is because I’m gonna start tweeting from Thursday the 28th of June, thought I’d give it a go, Mike is a big fan and it does seem to be a great way to stay in touch.
I thought Thursday would be a great day to start cause I’ll be going on the road for the summer European tour. My first gig was last Friday at Hampton court palace, we were sooooo lucky with the weather!! Thank you to all of you who came and showed your support, can’t wait to get back on stage.
So Denmark is our first stop, all the stage clothes are packed but I’ve still got to pack my personal clothes, but it’s okay, I’ve got time tomorrow morning to pack my case as the flight doesn’t leave till the afternoon.
I’ll be away from London till the end of July, so catch me on twitter where I’ll be tweeting about all the great places we’re gonna visit on this tour!
Love
Katie
